Back in the library

Well, seeing Spring has decided to well and truly make her presence known, I decided I'd venture back out to the toy library for a change of scenery. The front office was getting too crowded, with three office volunteers in today (not including myself) so I'd decided to head outside to my little hidey-hole for the first time in, well, months.

Not that I expect to be doing much out here. Apparently clients came in before I even got to Morisset (must've been keen) but the office staff were able to handle it. It's not as if it's rocket science...

But it's quite quiet out here. I like it when it's like this. I can veg out and do bugger-all, or, rattle off a long overdue blog. :)

What can I waffle on about? Well, have been inspired somewhat to do some re-arranging of furniture around the house, mainly because I acquired a second-hand desk. So the PC went back into the bedroom (just wasn't getting much done with it being in the lounge room, that and it was a tad uncomfortable), with a lovely spot by the window, and just enough room to open the wardrobe doors. Now I can work to my heart's content without having the other tenants (and their guests) wandering past my front window having a sticky-beak. (The downfall of having the front unit. Everybody has to walk past my lounge room window... ) I also get a good view of the yard, the frangipani tree (which should be blooming shortly) and East Gosford.

I also have an inspection coming up, so I'll need to do a bit of cleaning as well whilst I have the chance. I need to do some more work on the bathroom ceiling, plus give the place a long overdue vacuum as well. The lounge can do with a bit of a tidy as well, seeing I've been going through some old folders and disposing of unnecessary print-outs.

Of course, my enthusiasm for such a task may wane considerably, if my disrupted sleeping patterns continue. Every day this week I have been napping on the couch in the afternoon, primarily because I wake up between 2am and 4am, take a while to nod back off, then wake again around 7am. I generally don't have problems getting to sleep, just staying asleep.

Accompanying the sleeping disruptions have been a series of unrelated dreams. The dreams have gone from the simple, such as being in a garden identifying birds, to the bizaare, where I was watching a group of people make a R-rated video - South Park style. The soccer one, where I score wasn't too bad, but I clearly recall as I kicked the ball in my dream, I kicked the blanket off the bed as well. There was also one where it appeared that I was in my grandmother's kitchen, watching TV with a relative that I couldn't identify, and the person we were watching (a soccer coach, dressed in a tracksuit) started talking to us as if he could see us. Then he stepped out of the screen...

There were others. There was one where I was with some familiar faces in a games store, going through the miniatures range and dicussing Blood Bowl. Another had me sliding through a fancy department store after closing time, weaving my way through the displays and talking to staff. I think I even had the obligatory law enforcement one where I was a plain-clothes detective getting to the source of some disturbance.

It's wierd. I really don't know why this keeps on happening. At the moment, I am in a better place (mentally and emotionally) than I have been for months. People I know locally are talking to me again, I'm getting out and doing stuff (including gaming - and I have two Blood Bowl tournaments coming up over the next three weeks) and life generally has become quite bearable. My sister called in unexpectantly last week and stayed for an hour and I even managed a rare movie outing to Tuggerah on Tuesday to see Cowboys and Aliens (mini review of it currently on the right-hand side of the page). I really wanted to see the Conan the Barbarian movie, but it was on the Central Coast cinemas for, like, five minutes...

I've even been getting a few looks walking around too. I started wearing bandanas now seeing I got so used to wearing one whilst playing soccer, and even ventured out and bought three different coloured ones last time I went to Erina Fair. People have commented that the bandana looks good, that I am looking quite fit and healthy and the occasional glance from women passing by has been encouraging! (Exiting Morisset station this morning I drew an extended look from a slim brunette wearing a green jacket and a floral skirt. Pity I wasn't going her way... )

I hope it continues.

Anyway, time is drifting away quite nicely at the moment, and it is almost time to pack up and venture back inside, where I can get the rest of the list of stuff printed up that I had jotted down. This afternoon, seeing it's pay day, I'll need to shop, then I can relax at home and have a game or two of my latest addictions - Carcassonne and Settlers of Catan.

Ciao!
